About Our Medical Clinic
Uganda has one of the worst healthcare records in the world. What worries the locals most in life is probably their health and the health of their family. A Ugandan’s health and life expectancy is among the lowest across the globe – one in every 200 births ends the mother’s life, around 1 million people are living with HIV and although malaria accounts for 14% of all deaths, less than 10% of children under five are sleeping under insecticide-treated nets.
So serving God in a country where 51% of people don’t have any contact with public healthcare facilities we had a dream that included a Pharmacy and a Medical Clinic for the community in Buyaga. By God’s grace we opened the Clinic in October 2018, when a short-term medical team from USA came and offered free Ophthalmology consultations and glasses for hundreds of people.
And this was just the beginning – we pray and hope that from now on many other medical teams from different parts of the World will come and serve the people in Buyaga. Right now, we are praying for permanent medical personnel in Buyaga, that can make the most accurate diagnoses, determine the best course of treatment and provide the people in the community with the most appropriate healthcare services. We really hope that this place will be a healing place for many and a blessing for this community!
